Kinda like that song…

pastduebills-main_full2…you know the one: Hurts so good? Well, that’s how it feels to be climbing out of the hole that I’ve created. It’s painful, scary and pretty darn cool. It’s amazing how closing one credit card that you have literally DEPENDED on can free you. I cannot imagine how it will feel to close out the rest of my cards. Most of them I haven’t used in years. Literally. Just becuase I didn’t use them doesn’t mean that they didn’t carry balances. It makes me ill to think about how much I have paid in interest…. But I’m changing that. Truly changing the way that you view money does something to you…I actually want to *gasp* live within my means. HOLY COW! I don’t know alot of people who do that. I actually want to pay CASH for things. Don’t know alot of people who do that, either. I also realize that it’s going to be awhile for this to work. Patience is not something I’m blessed with, but it is something that I can pull out when I need to. I’ve realized that I need to seriously focus, as Dave Ramsey says, I need to get “gazelle intense”. So that’s my mission. I’ve got the exercise thing down, I’m working on the diet thing…I’ve only got 12 more pounds to lose. I think it’s time to for a new mission: GET OUT OF DEBT…and it’s just starting. It’s going to be hard, painful…but the exhileration is SO worth it. And I cannot WAIT to be DEBT FREE!!

I know it is hard to imagine living without CC, but it is possible to to live within your means! We have no credit cards, and the bank account is only used to pay bills. If we don’t have the cash,w e don’t buy it…the only exception would be when we buy our house…you can do this and I am proud of you for facing it head on!

I think it’s funny we’re doing the same things, but in a different order. We started getting our finances in order, then I got the fitness/exercise thing going and I’m going to seriously get my food/diet together soon! As Dave says, “Live like no one else so that you can live like no one else!”

Did you ever look him up on Hulu? Here’s the link that I followed and this connects to a 20-somethings special:

I know you will attack this with the same dedication and intensity that you do everything else. You will make Dave proud! =o)
