Bar Method Body: Designer Sculpting

I was planning a run this morning, but for some reason I just couldn’t get myself motivated to get out there and do it. So I decided to do a Bar Method workout instead. I must say that I really enjoyed this workout. It starts off with a gentle warm up, and then moves on to calves (which I thinkĀ are far underworked by other programs) and then arms. The arms segment of this workout focused on multiple muscle groups using light weights (I took Tracy Anderson’s advice to heart about never using more than 3 pounds). All the work is standing, and Burr has you do biceps and shoulders. I was a little suprised by the lack of tricep work, which seems to be one of her staples. After the upper body work, it’s time to move to thigh work. OUCH! I have developed pretty strong legs, but this sequence made my legs shake (on the last set). It felt really good to work that hard. Then we moved on to the pretzel (yay!). There were two sets of 30…which didn’t seem like alot, but I suppose since I’m doing this type of work everyday that may have some influence on how I view the difficulty. Then it’s time for abs…which are stationary in this workout. Okay. Something different and challenging…THEN you do more seat work. I would call it back dancing (I actually think that Burr does in one of the newer workouts). THIS WAS TOUGH!! I really liked this workout. When I finished, I felt refreshed and ready to fact the day!
YAY FOR BARRE WORK!!

Cardio Barre has plenty of tricep and calf work! I haven’t tried it yet but I watched all the segments…ouch!
