I was sitting on my couch last night and got bit by the exercise bug. So, I got up, pulled out my Fluidity Bar (which I use constantly for other barre workouts) and put in…wait for it…a FLUIDITY workout! I haven’t done one in a LONG time. I felt like I was starting over! Granted, the Fluidity movements are similar to most of my other isometrics, but I definitely felt it. I did the Beginner/Introductory workout, which is only 20 minutes long. It’s still a good workout, especially on days when you don’t have a full 45-60 minutes. That being said, this workout has some perks. I like that she opens with basic warm-up exercises, including your hip flexors. I tend to be really tight if I don’t do that, so it was a nice change. Then you move on to 4th position seat work, which is done in…you guessed it! 4th position. Then some thigh work, and THEN fold-over seat work. That kills me every time. I have been stuck at intermediate level for EVER! I do enjoy that Fluidity foucuses on strengthening and then stretching. It feels really, really good.
Positives: good warm up, good instruction, beginning, intermediate and advanced exercisers in the workouts, pull ups are a nice change.
Negatives: Flat back work is VERY difficult, the camera doesn’t always focus on all 3 girls, so it can be difficult to modify moves.
I really like the Fluidity series. I think that I will probably be doing the Intermediate workout soon!
