I love sushi. RAW FISH. AND, the rest of my meals are VEGAN…hmmm…. I sense a problem brewing. So, tonight I tried a vegtable roll. It was pretty good. Not as sweet as the salmon that I had (yes, I did have some fish), but it was still yummy. Of course, the wasabi and tamari helped. Who would have thought of rolling up bibb lettuce, carrots, cucumber and broccoli? It was delicious. I may actually be able to give up my salmon…er…eventually give it up. My husband (and I) are worried about mercury levels and PCBs in fish. I know that eating smaller fish (rather than predatory fish like shark or tuna) will help to ensure that those levels don’t go off the charts…. The only way to ensure that it gets out of my sustem is to not eat it. I’m slowly working toward it, though. And I give veggie rolls two big (or me-sized) thumbs up!
