On the road

June 24, 2009

Okay, maybe not again, but I do love that song! I have spent my day stressing about whether or not I packed enough, or too much…or if I forgot something. I hate that feeling. And you never know what it is that you “forgot” until you need it. I am a list maker, normally, but 418vreeptdl_sl160_this trip was rather sudden, so the only list that I managed to make was one for my workout gear and snacks. Go figure. I blogged about my snacks earlier this week (read it here), so I thought that I should probably share what I packed for working out, since I’ve become a sort-of home gym “rat”. The first thing that I grabbed was my Bally 3lb. Pearlized Weighted Ball. I can use it to tone most of the muscles, if not all of them. I adore my ball, especially for adding a bit of a challenge to ab work! It’s also great for thigh work if you do any of the barre workouts…especially if you’re trying to target those pesky inner thigh muscles! I actually got the idea from the NEW Pure Barre workout, which I’ll be reviewing after my trip…so stay tuned (there’s also a FREE giveaway for BOTH BRAND NEW Pure Barre workouts coming later this summer…become my Facebook fan for more info here!) Then, I packed my Pilate Exercises Resistance Bands. I love that they’re labeled “light, medium & heavy”. It helps to make sure that I’m getting the proper resistance. I love doing chest and back fly with these. AND they fold FLAT!! Perfect for a suitcase! I am also bringing my Polar F6 Women’s Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Green Tea) and running gear. I don’t want to leave ANYTHING to chance! I think that I’m prepared for whatever may come my way, and I know that I will be more motivated to workout with some of my favorite toys! What do you normally bring with you when you travel to help you stay on track?

Hey Brea!

It is great that you bring along work out gear! Me and Dad use to have the strengthening bands and we would connect them to doors and work out that way. Now a days I bring a great pair of walking shoes and walk everywhere I can. We usally go up the mountains, or to Gettysburg. Walk up the mountains and down the mountains. Walk to dinner and back haha. I also bring fresh fruits and veggies so I do not depend on chips and soda to make me full. I also keep water and nuts on me at ALL times. I also use to pack my skatebaord but they are band most places now and I think my doctor would kick my butt.

Have a safe trip!

I would love to tell you what I bring on road trips, but sadly, we NEVER leave the house unless it’s for a 5K or 10K! LOL :)
