Pershing Square 1 workout giveaway

July 22, 2009

pershingsq-11In honor of my KILLER workout this morning, I am giving away a FREE copy of Pure Barre’s BRAND NEW workout: Pershing Square 1!! A little bit about this workout: According to the packaging, this workout requires NO EQUIPMENT (if you happen to have a small 5-6″ diameter playground ball, it would be helpful but not necessary). Okay…that’s kind of true. You do need to have a support to hold onto…the back of a couch, a chair…the wall? I am lucky enough to have a barre that I use for this type of workout, but a high-backed chair is a good substitute. If you have hard floors, you will want to be sure to have a pilates/yoga mat for some of the exercises (push ups, seat and abs) so that your back and knees don’t get hurt. Also, the playground ball is a great addition, but you can do the exercises without it. I was very excited to have a new piece of equipment to play with…maybe that’s just me, though. Alright, so set-up out of the way, the workout is fantastic. I’ve been doing this workout for about 3 weeks now, and my legs are starting to get some awesome definition. I do this workout 2-3 times a week, and it does a great job of exhausting the muscles. There is an amazing thigh sequence, that always makes my legs shake, and a great hamstring/seat section as well. The abs section is good, just not my thing…I prefer your traditional sit ups and reverse cruches with a weighted medicine ball. But if you’re looking for no-impact abs, this workout will do that for you. The stretch sequences after each segment are just long enough to help your muscles release (and to stop the shaking!). I honestly LOVE this workout. If you give me a choice between this workout and others that I have, I tend to reach for Pershing Square 1. I love that it’s only 45 minutes, and that the DVD has a section all about proper form, so that you can get through the workout quickly. There is not as much set-up time for each exercise, but I think that it’s because there is so much time spent on form in the form section…honestly, it’s a wonderful idea. You can also choose to do each section (warm-up, arms, legs, seat, abs) separately, although the workout goes by so quickly that I really don’t see a need for it. Can you tell that I’m completely IN L-O-V-E with Pure Barre??

Okay, down to what you want to know: How do I win a FREE copy of this amazing workout? The rules are simple. Just leave a comment after this blog entry. Only one entry per person, please. I will be drawing the winner of the contest FRIDAY JULY 24th, which means that you have 2 days to enter. I will contact the winner by email.

Good luck to everyone!!

Okay..forever now I have heard Brea talk about Pure Barre workouts and I have been intrigued, but still don’t have one….I am always looking for a new challenge to add to my workout routine so I can move to the “next level” of fitness. I would love to have this workout for myself, but also for my daughter…she loves the idea of these workouts that are less areobic (Step, tae bo is not her thing) and to her a Barre workout means ballet and she loves dance..so really I would love to have this workout as an alternative for she and I to do together as part of her PE this year for school…maybe then she would whine a little less and we could find something we would both enjoy on some level!

Anything that Brea gives a thumbs-up to is worth taking notice of. I like changing up my workout routine so that I don’t get bored and so that my muscles stay surprised. I would use the pure barre workouts in conjunction with my kettlenetics, running, biking, swimming and strength training at the Y. I have lost 20 pounds in the last year and I still have 100+ to go. But, I have begun this wonderful journey of regular exercise and eating right and I have never felt better – despite that I am in my mid-40′s. My daughter in college also likes to exercise with me when she comes home on the weekend – so it will be something new for her to enjoy too.

I am very much interested in learning more about this type of workout. I have an 11 yr old step daughter who is struggling with her weight and I would love to have something like this to do with her. She likes dancing but not fond of formal workout dvds. She has asked me to help her exercise and this could be amazing for both of us. I have struggled for several years with my weight after a car accident, and have yet to find a work out routine that I can handle without hurting myself more. I would really love a copy of this to help get myself into better shape before having another baby, and also to help motivate my step daughter so she doesn’t go through life hating herself and her body. This would be awesome for both of us!

Brea has been posting about the Pure Barre workouts and they sound great. I have been off the health/fitness wagon for too long and am looking to get back on track, first with a vegan diet (hooray) and next with a new exercise routine.

Ok, girl…..this one has officially been added to my “Brea has it & loves it – therefore, I need it too!” list. :) LOL I love this type of workout, I have Bar Method Fat Free and Designer Sculpt and Squeeze Lower Body Challenge and I can barely wait to have enough to do a different one everyday!!!!!!! :) Thanks for your blogs, Brea – GREAT JOB!

The reason I would love to win this workout is because I absolutely love these kind of workouts. I have the first Pure Barre and have been looking forward to the getting the new workouts. The Barre type workouts make me WANT to workout instead of looking at it as something I have to do. I’m always looking for new workouts to add to my Barre collection and these from what Brea has said should be one of the toughest. I know that the first Pure Barre is great, but I hear that these are even better. I know these kind of workout give results so I am really looking forward to adding it and getting back into shape after I have my baby.

Okay, you talk about this all the time and I really need to get my butt in gear. The no (minimal) equipment is perfect since I’m moving around every 4-6 weeks for my clinical rotations. Pick me. Pick me. :)

I used to be a competitive figure skater, and ballet was an important part of my training. I would love to get back into a ballet/barre workout, to improve my core strength, and the stretch sequence sounds great. Thanks for the opportunity Brea!

I’m always up for a new workout to mix in with my Cathes.

I would really like to win this Pershing Square 1 workout DVD because I enjoy this type of exercise. Barre workouts greatly improve back strength and posture. The fact that it requires few props makes it suitable to do almost anywhere. Thanks for this great chance to win.

You make every workout sound great. I was thinking about you as I drove home from taking my dh to work this morning (my car is in the shop). I thought Brea has already had her run and gotten in a barre workout and what have I done?… had a bowl of Lucky Charms. You keep improving yourself on a daily basis and I’m becoming more of a lump. ;o) Maybe winning a new dvd would spur me back into action. Thanks for the opportunity!
