All I can say is that I am IN LOVE!! I stumbled upon ACT Naturals, who makes PERMANENT, plant-based hair dye. Could I BE more excited?! The last time I went to the hairdresser…well…let’s just say my hair is NOT cute, and hasn’t been since I’ve been preggo! BUT, there are no harsh chemicals or additives in this dye (consequently it won’t strip out other color, so be careful), and I am SOOOO tempted to try it! The only problem is that it can only be purchased online…which in my experience is either really good, or really bad (depending upon if you choose a good color….). So, the question is…do I dare? I love the idea of being able to even out my color, but I am apprehensive to make a “permanent” choice without seeing the actual color in person. I suppose it helps that my household is putting a spending freeze into effect on May 1st. ONLY gas and groceries. FUN! LOL I have plenty of fabric, and lots of projects, so I should be able to last the month (crossing my fingers, anyway!!). I think I’ll wait until the baby’s born…I would love to hear from anyone who has used ACT, though!

i would be so scared to order hair color online… but you never know huh? but heck i typically get jet black coz its the only color that actually fades and grows out w/o roots on my hair… i may look into ACT, are you going to get it?? hope the pregnancy is treating you well! sending love your way!
Hi Brea
I wondered whether you or anyone you know has tried the vegan hair dye yet. I ordered mine a while back but I have still not received it yet.
Lydia
I have not. Ish decided that I could wait until after Tater gets here to dye my hair again. Did you order from them?
I buy Tints of Nature. I have purchased it at Whole Foods and once I found that I like it I buy it from Vegan Essentials as Whole Foods is an hour away and I hate the traffic! It completely covers gray (believe me I have a lot as I started going gray at 16). The smell is not at all offensive. The box is even green. The “plastic” is made out of cornstarch. The color is very long lasting and I would highly recommend it. Here’s the link on Vegan Essentials if you want to try it. http://store.veganessentials.com/tints-of-nature-permanent-hair-colorings-p2090.aspx
