THEY FIT!

HOLY COW, y’all!! My pre-pregnancy jeans (granted, not my size 8s, but it’s a start!!) FIT…AND…SO DOES MY WEDDING RING!! I am SO very excited! I wore my jeans out yesterday and this morning decided to try my ring (I’ve been wearing a poor CZ imitation since I was about 6 months pregnant)…AND IT FIT! Can you tell I’m SUPER excited? Just a little…. So what have I been doing? I think it’s a combination of things. I’m eating very well, using only organic, fresh fruits and veggies, lots of beans and grains (tonight is chickpea-millet cakes with ‘tartar’ sauce…YUM!).

I’m loving the amount of energy that I have, and it doesn’t hurt that my skin also looks AH-mazing. Just a bonus for taking care of myself, I guess!

Hi Brea!

I recently just came across your blog and felt like I had a lot in common with you, especially with your love for exercising or at least our agreement that we all need it! And I just had a question, I have been doing the tracy anderson method for a couple weeks and I really enjoy them. But I’m sure you know how strict she is about sticking to only her workouts and not doing other forms of exercise (especially cardio). So I was wondering what your results have been like by switching between your different barre method dvds, as well as tracy anderson method workouts AND running? do you think it’s better to switch up the different workouts, or stay faithful to a couple then introduce different ones once you get bored. I do miss running but I’ve noticed my quads have slimmed since I’ve stopped so perhaps tracy is right.

Thanks, Steph! You know, I had awesome results using a variety of workouts and running for my cardio. My thighs were a little ‘large’, but I still fit into my ‘skinny’ jeans. I also dropped weight VERY quickly doing the mix because my muscles were constantly challenged. Tracy’s cardio is fun, but it’s difficult for me to do right now (I need to find a good sports bra). I think that if you miss running, then you should do it. If it doesn’t matter to you, then do Tracy’s cardio. The calorie burn is about the same. I LOVE her strength training and P57. For me, those are my ‘musts’.

Thanks so much for your response! I never knew that Tracy’s dance cardio burned that many calories compared to running. I always seem to sweat more while running.
I think I should really invest in a heart rate monitor so I can really know. I saw that you use a polar F6 watch, do you have to use a chest strap for that as well? and if so, do you find it uncomfortable to workout with?

And thanks for your advice, I definitely think I will introduce some barre type workouts as well! I find Tracy’s method lacks inner thigh exercises, which is an area I’d like to tone up.

You’re welcome! I am always DRENCHED after I finish Tracy’s cardio…but I REALLY have to concentrate on putting everything I have into it and doing all of the jumping. I love my F6, and it does require a chest strap. It takes a bit of getting used to, but I don’t even notice it anymore.
