Before I found Young Living, I’d tried oils before, but they hadn’t worked (more on why that happened HERE). Then a friend had given me a sample of lavender to test out because I suffered from severe seasonal allergies.
In fact, my allergies used to be so bad that I would contract a severe sinus infection every single time something bloomed. I wish I was exaggerating. It was miserable-I had constant headaches, nosebleeds (from the decongestant in me medication that I had to take to breathe), and I looked like death. Constantly.
Thankfully, I didn’t toss the sample she sent in the trash. I did put it on a shelf for about 6 months before I found it again, and in desperation messaged her on Facebook to ask how the heck to use this stuff. She told me to apply just a drop of the lavender to the bridge of my nose. I laughed out loud. She had to be nuts. That’s it?! No chanting, weird rituals…just “swipe it across the nose as needed.”
Um. Okay. So I did. I mean, I was seriously miserable, and my prescription obviously wasn’t working. So why not, right? And it worked. My eyes stopped watering, I stopped sneezing as much, and I could finally breathe.
For about an hour. I was so excited that when I started to feel gross again, I reapplied. You know how sometimes you take medicine on a schedule but it doesn’t quite get you to that 4-hour mark? I didn’t have that problem! I could reapply the lavender as often as I needed to.
The next day I ordered my kit. I knew I would need more lavender than the little sample I’d been given. Plus, I really wanted that free diffuser. I waited impatiently for my oils to arrive (I seriously stalked the UPS guy for a week straight-poor thing).
And then, they came. And I unpacked my box immediately. My brand new diffuser was awesome, and the lavender couldn’t have come fast enough. But I had no idea what to do with the rest of the oils. I think that a lot of us run into that trouble. We get super excited about something, and then once we actually have it in our hands we get a little stuck.
I was stuck for about a month until I read that lemon, lavender, and peppermint essential oils may help support healthy sinus function. So I tried it. I discovered that peppermint should not be applied anywhere near your eye area in the process. I was a runny-nosed, watery-eyed mess. But my sinuses cleared up for the first time in over 10 years. I had to know:
What else could these oils do?”
Turns out, they can do a lot. I’ve completely overhauled our go-to remedies, and we use oils all day, every day. Now, these aren’t a magic pill-y’all. Nothing is. But using these oils is a great way to improve our family’s healthy and wellness.
I can’t tell you the last time I bought a bottle of Tylenol. Or refilled my allergy medicine.
And the supplements! Oh Mylanta. Y’all. I’m a huge, raving fan of Young Living supplements and have just gotten through my first winter in the history of winters without coming down with a sinus infection, the flu, or bronchitis.
I have survived a winter where the weather has been all over the map, and am coming out the other side healthy & strong.
Thanks to oils, I’ve been able to radically boost our immune systems by using essential oils so my body can heal itself. I seriously never want to be without oils ever again.
Since using the oils on myself, I’ve noticed a dramatic improvement in my hormones, thyroid function, and my mood.
I am also sleeping better, and for someone who struggles with insomnia, that’s saying a lot.
Now, I know that I may sound like a crazy fanatic…but I’m not. I believe in a healthy lifestyle.
Change is hard. I get it.
Creating a healthier life isn’t easy-change is difficult and takes time. It takes patience and persistence. That’s why when I took 6 months to try that lavender sample I didn’t beat myself up. I understood that it just wasn’t the right time before.
Oils are part of my family’s healthy balance. We eat well (though sometimes we do order in pizza), go to church, pray, and get some regular exercise. In my humble opinion, a whole-life approach to health is one that is far easier to achieve and maintain.
Essential oils are an integral part of that approach for myself and my family. My parents, sister, and brother all use them regularly. We’ve all found oils to be beneficial in so many ways.
What Are Essential Oils?
Essential Oils are the natural byproduct of plant metabolism. These tiny molecules are easily absorbed into your skin. The best part is that they know just what to do once they get there. They immediately go to work delivering oxygen and nutrients while removing toxins from your body. And they do this without the harmful side effects of so many prescribed and OTC medications.
And we don’t just use oils.
We also have wonderful supplements that are now part of my daily routine.
One of my all-time favorites is my Ningxia Red, which:
- Contains minerals & vitamins that act as enzymes and co-factors in the digestion process
- Increases Super Oxide Dismutase (SOD) and hemoglobin
- Tastes awesome and sustains energy levels throughout the day
- Helps lower blood sugar and in many tests stabilizes blood sugar
- Strengthens the brains neurotransmitters against the pervasive free radical activity, thus fighting against dementia and other forms of memory loss.
- Reduces stress and anxiety
- Avoids oxidative stress on the body
- Contains the B-vitamin complex
- Provides powerful antifungal and anti-bacterial action because it contains solavetivone
- Reduces pain caused by inflammation because the berry contains beta-Sitosterol
Plus, the Ningxia Wolfberry is high in protein (more than whole wheat, which is good news for those of us who avoid gluten!). And, I discovered my love affair for Ningxia Red because I received a sample of it with my starter kit.

Why Should I Become A Wholesale Member?
First and foremost, becoming a wholesale member is the only way to get your oils at 24% off retail price. It’s awesome to get this discount.
Do I Have to “Sell”?
Never. You may find that as you use the oils and you share your testimonials with friends and family, you want to. You always have the option to earn a commission when others join and purchase Young Living oils. There is never any obligation to buy a certain amount or ever share YL with others. Win-win!
I really just want to use oils myself. Do I ever have to sell Young Living products?”
Again, no you don’t. You can use them, love them, and never sell.
There is absolutely no obligation at all to sell oils when you join as a wholesale member.
Now, if you ever change your mind, you can jump in at any time. I personally choose to just share Young Living online or with friends who ask me about it first. It is a no-pressure kind of thing, and I will not lie… the monthly check is pretty awesome.
If someone wants to join Young Living through me, how do we do that?
When you join, you will be assigned your own ‘wholesale member number’ to give to your friends and family who are interested in joining as well. Easy-peasy!
Is there a monthly order minimum?
Nope. You just order what you need when you need it! This is a huge part of the reason that I chose Young Living. I only have to order what I actually need-I don’t have to meet a minimum or order every month (or pay a membership fee).
Are you sure there are no monthly order requirements?
None! There is NO (nada, zip, zilch, zero) REQUIREMENT! Y’all. Young Living is a company that really gets it. There are no hoops.
Now, to retain an active ‘wholesale member’ account, you have to place one 50 PV (approximately $50.00) minimum order per year.
If you miss that deadline, you can reactivate your account by calling Young Living Customer Care with a 100PV (point volume) order.
Sometimes, as a promotion, they even waive this minimum order requirement to reactivate. But again, this is just to keep, what YL calls, “active status.”
Is there a way to save even more money?
Yes! The Essential Rewards program offers reduced shipping, generous credits that I use on a regular for free oils, supplements, and more.
Each month there are seriously awesome promotions for free oils when you place your Essential Rewards order. I did not do this when I started, but now I do because it works for me! Plus, I love free stuff, and I am getting plenty of it.
What is the catch?
There isn’t one. Period. To be clear, I do make a commission from the company when you make your purchase.
That motivates me to share, of course, but the main reason I share Young Living oils is because I love them, they work and they have seriously blessed our family.
Thank you for enrolling as a ‘wholesale member’ through me!
