Cleaning House (and other terrifying thoughts) | I HATE Clutter

clutter

Happy Friday, y’all! I have been cleaning out like a crazy lady-digging through drawers, bins, tubs, cupboards and closets ridding myself of the clutter.

I HATE CLUTTER

Almost as much as I hate finding a rouge Lego on the floor with my foot at 2 a.m. Almost. The problem that has presented itself is that I have a LOT of clutter-not surprising, since we moved cross country last winter and rather than thin out, I just threw everything into storage bins and moving boxes.

I’m being SO through that I am even cleaning out my workout stash-that’s right. I’m getting rid of the workouts that I either haven’t done, or hate to do. *sigh* There are a LOT of workouts in the ‘donate’ pile.

So what’s a girl to do with all of this excess?

I’ve found some success in selling my goodies online through forums like Poshmark, eBay, ThredUp (LOVE them!), and even some Facebook Groups.

I’ve gotten rid of homeschool stuff (we’re sending Smalls to Montessori in the fall), diapers, handbags, clothes, shoes, books, movies…like I said. I have a LOT of stuff!!

Thankfully, I am slowly thinning things out, paring down our closets and stuff in general, and I’m making some money that will help to put Smalls through preschool and start to pay off my student loans. Whew!

But what do I do if things aren’t in resale condition?

I donate. Either to Salvation Army, St. Vincent DePaul, or our local homeless shelter (I’m not a big fan of Goodwill-they really don’t help that many people, and most of the good stuff gets sold online). I feel better knowing that my house is getting cleared out, AND we’re helping people. How’s that for an all-around win?
