I’ve been in a bit of a slump lately. Dragging, no energy…I just haven’t felt like myself. So I’ve been relying heavily on essential oils to help wake me up and get me going.
I know I’m not alone. We all experience days where we need a little extra pick me up. Whether you’ve been working too many hours, running ragged keeping up with the kids or simply not sleeping well…we all have days when we could use some help.
These oils are my solution for those days when you know you need a boost of energy if you have any kind of hope of making it through the day.
Thankfully essential oils can help fight the fatigue and give you the little kick that you need to get going.
The right essential oils can increase your energy and give you the stamina you need to not only survive the day but enjoy it.
When you use essential oils to increase your energy, you’ll not only feel more awake, but you’ll also feel energized, rejuvenated (and more human).
Orange Essential Oil
One of my absolute favorites, orange essential oil has a wonderfully light sweet orange-y scent that will instantly improve your mood. As with all citrus oils, orange oil has properties that boost energy levels and combat stress and depression that can leave you feeling down and unmotivated. I highly recommend orange essential oil for regular use to feel more productive and focused.
And, if you don’t have orange in your oil cupboard, tangerine or lemon (or even grapefruit) make awesome substitutes. Experiment and see which citrus oil you fall in love with.
Spearmint or Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint and spearmint essential oils help you feel naturally energized.
They’re an instant pick me up and can help to wipe out fatigue. I prefer the scent of spearmint over peppermint but both offer a powerful and long-lasting boost of energy when you need it.
When using ‘mint’ oils remember less is more, they pack a powerful punch.
Rosemary Essential Oil
Rosemary is an excellent choice for stress and mental fatigue, though many people dislike the woodsy smell. To help with this, I love combining equal parts rosemary and orange with a single drop of peppermint essential oil in the mornings. My house smells clean and fresh and I only need a single cup of coffee (no judgment if that single cup is 24 ounces, y’all).
Rosemary oil helps to relieve nervous exhaustion. Rosemary also blends well with most oils and can enhance the properties of other oils for energy. It’s a popular choice and go-to oil for combining with energy blends.
Ginger Essential Oil
The best essential oil for improving circulation in the body and maintaining energy levels is hands down ginger. In fact, ginger essential oil plays a role in managing fatigue and increasing alertness. If you’re looking for something to increase your daily energy levels and support your overall wellness, ginger oil is the way to go.
Juniper Essential Oil
Juniper is known for its purifying properties. It fights fatigue and helps create a better mood (and more energy). Juniper essential oil is a wonderful choice for exhaustion or when you’re simply feeling sluggish.
Energy Boosting Diffuser Blend
Now, you could diffuse any of these essential oils individually and notice a difference, but my all time favorite combo happens to include three of the oils I just mentioned. Want to know what it is?
- 2 drops orange
- 2 drops rosemary
- 1 drop peppermint or spearmint
That’s it! It’s super simple and an instant energy boost.
