FREE Barre Workouts

For those of you who don’t know…I’m a bit obsessed with anything that has to do with barre-type workouts. Tracy Anderson, Physique 57, Bar Method, Cardio Barre, Exhale, Squeeze…ummm…yeah. And I am the first to admit that this type of obsession can be a tad expensive.
So.
I am here to help.
I’m all for trying before you buy. I think that you should understand EXACTLY what you’re getting yourself into.
So…I’ve been keeping a list of all the free ‘barre’ workouts, and I figured that rather than hoard them all, I’d share. Isn’t that nice of me?
I’ve tried to list them according to which workout they belong to (it’s a LOOONG list, so please cut me some slack if they’re a bit out of order), and I’ve also listed the actual brands in order of difficulty (according to me, of course).
While each workout has its benefits, I STRONGLY recommend that if you are new to barre workouts, you start with Bar Method. Burr (the founder) gives excellent instruction, and the workouts aren’t ones that will seem insurmountable to a novice (and from someone who’s done a whole lot of barre workouts, they’re also nice when you want a good workout but don’t really feel like you have time to cry it out).

No matter what you choose, make sure that you warm up first!

Bar Method
Physique 57
I hope that these workouts give you a good idea of each brand before you decide which workout you will enjoy. I am always here if you have questions!

Thank you for your great reviews on the Bar Method and other types of barre workouts. There aren’t any barre-oriented studio’s located near me so I am at the mercy of the DVD’s. I am a 30 years old, 5’7″ and have exercised in one form or another my whole life. I am reading mixed info about whether or not you will lose weight or bulk up your thighs doing the Bar Method. What was your experience? Since July, I have gained 8 pounds. EIGHT. I am in a total state of despair. I was on a 10-day dose of prednisone and noticed the huge gain right afterwards. I can’t get rid of it. My jeans are very tight in my thighs. I tried running and Jillian Michaels workouts but the scale keeps going up. Can you please share your experience with the Bar Method? I have been reading reviews about barre dvds and decided to purchase the Bar Method Advanced workout and Bar Method Dancer’s Body. I am reading mixed info about whether or not you will lose weight or bulk up your thighs doing the Bar Method. What was your experience? Thanks in advance!
