Denying your body of the fuel it needs is literally one of the worst things you can do. Not only is this practice considered an eating disorder known as ‘Anorexia’, but those who starve themselves to lose a little weight find that they end up gaining more.

This is due to the fact that the stomach shrinks while the body goes into fat storage mode during the denial of nutrients. As soon as the next meal goes into your system, your body will react by immediately storing as much of it as possible.

Every body needs nutrients to function at its best and you should change what you eat instead of not eating altogether to meet your weight loss goals.

Extreme Exercise Routines and Regimes are the Only Way to Lose Weight

Taking exercise to extreme levels is not only dangerous due to potential injury, but it is not sustainable. Exercise should be approached in way that you do what you can physically handle to get your heart rate up without over tiring your body. When the body is over exhausted this is when injuries to the joints and muscle tissue occur.

Labels are the first place you can be fooled when you are at the grocery store. Brands and marketing specialize in what will sell, regardless of what is actually healthier for you. More often than not, items labeled ‘low fat’ contain other ingredients that are far worse for your body than a few grams of fat.

Of course snacks labeled low fat will have less fat than the normal version, but the levels of fat in the low fat snack will still be higher than say, fruits or vegetables.

Margarine Contains Significantly Lower Amounts of Fat Than Butter

Butter and margarine contain different types of fat. Margarine will have fewer amounts of saturated fats, but this is replaced by high levels of hydrogenated fats. The hydrogenated fats are far worse for you than saturated fats.

If you are looking to keep a healthy heart, you should consume low levels of hydrogenated fats as well as saturated fats. 

Consuming Carbohydrates Will Make You Put on More Weight

When you eat carbs in the right amounts, they will not add more weight to your body. Change the way you eat carbs by choosing to eat whole grains, brown rice, and whole meal bread. The body processes these types of carbohydrates better and they contain higher levels of fiber as well. 

Cutting Out All Snacks From Your Diet Can Help You Lose Weight

Snacking itself is not the problem when you are monitoring your weight. It is the type of snack you choose. Snacking helps keep you energy levels up throughout the day and you should snack wisely. Choose fruits, veggies, and whole grains to keep you moving throughout the day. 

Drinking Lots of Water Helps You Lose Weight

Drinking lots of water will help your body stay hydrated and function at its best. Water will help keep you full which will help prevent snacking.

Often times, slight dehydration and thirst are confused with hunger. Strive to drink at least 1.2 liters of water each day for your body to perform at peak levels.

Skipping a Meal or Two Each Day is a Great Way to Lose Weight Quickly

Once again, skipping meal time is not a healthy way to lose weight. When you miss a meal, your body will crash and go into fat storage mode. To lose weight and keep it off, you should reduce the overall amount of calories consumed and increase the amount you burn through exercise.
