It’s summer, which means that we are super excited to get outside and grill.
Yes, we really do look forward to that here in Michigan. After living in Texas where you can grill your Christmas turkey without getting hypothermia, we’ve been waiting literally 7 months to get a grill on our back deck.
And we FINALLY have one!
For its inaugural cookout, we went with a super easy recipe: grilled pork chops.
We have an amazing local butcher shop here, and I was able to get them on sale (which in all honestly totally influenced dinner).
Do you ever totally change a side or a protein just because you find an awesome deal on something?
Just me?
It’s so much easier to shift gears when you use simple meals that are a protein and a side (or two). Last week we ended up having sirloin steaks instead of chicken because they were in my email as the “super secret deal of the week.”
The boys were all really happy about that occurrence.
But you are here to talk about grilled pork chops, not grilled steak.
Grilled Pork Chops
- 4 pork chops
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
How To Make Grilled Pork Chops
Season your pork chops with the salt, pepper, and garlic on both sides while you wait for your grill to reach temperature (for this you want a medium heat, so you may be waiting a bit if you got it too hot-though this is a great opportunity to blacken some corn for a cold corn salad).
Lay your seasoned pork chops on the grill and allow to cook over medium heat until they’re almost done-about 10 minutes per side.
Baste with a paleo-friendly bar-b-que sauce and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes per side.
Remove the pork chops to a serving platter or plate and allow to rest for 5 minutes before you eat.
These simple pork chops are great for a crowd and work with both bone-in and boneless chops.
