In the spirit of Unprocessed October, I’ve decided to share with you my weekly shopping, which is 100% organic, and unprocessed. While I know that I could clip coupons, buy ‘conventionally grown’, and shop strictly on sale, I would rather cut my budget in other places and feed my family healthy, organic foods. This trip will feed us for a full 7 days, supplemented by items that I have in my pantry, and that were purchased on my bulk shopping trip.
From Door to Door Organics:
1 Yellow Onion (local)
10 oz Rocket Salad (baby arugula)
5 oz Baby Spinach
7 Bosc Pears (I have a bit of an addiction…) (local)
2 Lemons
3 LARGE Garlic Bulbs
1 Bunch Kale (local)
3 Red Bell Peppers (local)
From Whole Foods:
6 Honeycrisp Apples
2 Large Spaghetti Squash
4 Cans Organic Tomato Paste
1 Wedge of Parmesan Reggiano
1 Pint Plain Yogurt
2 Half Gallons Almond Milk
Grapeseed Oil
Balsamic Vinegar
Asparagus
2 Sugar Pie Pumpkins
Total: $92.89…UNDER my $100 weekly budget!
Now granted, I did do a large bulk shopping trip at the beginning of the month that included rice, baking soda, vinegar, canned and dried beans, multivitamins, and a few seasonings that I was out of. Why do you seem to run out of everything all at once?!
