Oven Broiled Broccoli Recipe

Looking for a veggie that everyone in your family will love? This Oven Broiled Broccoli is certain to hit the spot.

As a mom, you know the feeling of kids not wanting to eat their vegetables, right? You work hard to create a delicious meal and they just sit and stare at you, waiting for something else.

Crazy frustrating, right?

While you just may want to throw up your hands and quit…don’t. Where there’s a will, there’s a way and that counts for getting your little ones to eat their vegetables, too.

In our house, I believe that finding a balance between healthy and sweets is really, really important. And while my kids may love sweets (guilt as well!), finding a way to showcase veggies in a way that’s positive rather than negative is key.

This is why I’m in love with this oven broiled broccoli recipe. It’s not only simple, but it’s a recipe that we actually gobble up!

Ingredients to make Oven Broiled Broccoli

How to make oven broiled broccoli

Start by washing off the head of broccoli and shaking off the excess water.

Then, grab those kitchen shears or knife and start chopping away those stems. You only need the top of the broccoli, so the stems aren’t going to be of use.

Add them to a bowl and toss them in your avocado oil.

Once it’s covered with oil (and if you feel that 3 tablespoons of oil are too much, you can cut it down) it’s time to get it ready to put in the oven.

Turn your oven to low broil and place your broccoli in an oven proof pan or baking sheet on the middle rack.

How long you want to broil this broccoli is truly up to you because some people like it more charred while others like it a bit more raw tasting instead.

Start checking it after broiling on low for 5 minutes and see what you think. If you decide to broil longer in the oven, check them every couple of minutes to see how they look. Be careful – it’s very easy to accidentally overdo it!

Once you’re fine with how it looks, pull it from the oven and sprinkle on your everything bagel seasoning. Taste test it to see if you need to add more or not.

And there you have it. Once you make your broccoli this way, your kids will NEVER have any issues eating broccoli ever again. Trust me on this one…I’ve tested this out numerous times!
