Taking the time to pamper yourself is key! How can you expect to run at full speed all the time if you don’t ever give yourself a break?
I’m a huge believer in “loving” me. I like to take some time about once or twice a month, and just chill. Do what I want to do. See what I want to see. Eat what I want to eat. Y’all get the drill.
But I’m always surprised to talk to other parents and find out that they aren’t doing the same thing. You mean to tell me that you NEVER take time away from your family to relax? Ever?
Woah. Kudos to you…but this momma? She needs some time to pamper herself.

Why should you take the time to pamper yourself?
Life as a parent is truly awesome. But can we all just agree that some days it’s downright rough as well? You know what I’m talking about, right?
Those mornings when no one wants to brush their hair. Or those days when you can’t get them to sit still long enough to have them eat anything besides a handful of french fries are they’re running through the kitchen. Please tell me I’m not alone here, guys.
If you have days like that, we’re besties already. And it’s actually even more of a reason why you should take the time to pamper yourself!

Pampering yourself gives you time to reset your brain
Mom brain is a thing. It really is. And if there are times when you feel like you need to unplug, you probably truthfully do! Instead of feeling like you shouldn’t, give yourself a break! Make an appointment for a quick manicure or pedicure or plan a day at the spa. You’ll be amazed at how refreshed and energized that you’ll feel!

When you pamper yourself, you reset your patience
Some parents have wonderful patience and some don’t. While I’m not here to judge anyone at all, I do know it’s important to take the time to reset that patience rather than to keep pushing it. Patience is something that can wear thin after a while for everyone, so pampering yourself here and there can keep those feelings and emotions at bay.

Pampering yourself means that you care about yourself, too
Teaching your children to love and be nice to everyone is true, but are you walking that walk with yourself? Show your kids that you mean what you say and show yourself some love as well. Taking some “you” time and making certain that you’re tending to what you need is important and is a great lesson to show the kids, too. That way, when they get older, they’ll how important self-care is as well.

Pamper yourself because it is fun!
Not everything has to happen for a reason! If you want to pamper yourself, then do so! You don’t have to have a massive list of reasons of why you deserve it…you just do! If someone asks you why you’re taking the day and treating yourself, look ’em square in the eye and tell them that it’s something that every single person deserves. Period.
If you have a need, or not, to pamper yourself, don’t let anything or anyone stand in your way. You have a right to be happy and to have some “you” time enjoying and doing something that you love. There will always be chores to do and things that need to be prioritized…but sometimes, all that stuff can wait.
Making yourself happy needs to be a priority on your radar because your self-worth and self-care are important!
