This sirloin tip in wine sauce is elegant, fancy, and perfect for all occasions. When you dig into this juicy steak you will be in food heaven. It’s so delicious it’s hard to believe it was made at home and not a classy restaurant.
Drool-Worthy Sirloin Tip in Wine Sauce
I have always been a huge fan of steak. I can’t help it! The flavor is so good and making it at home is so much better than dining out. Don’t get me wrong, I love to hit a nice restaurant and step out of the kitchen every once in a while. But it gets pretty expensive and I would much rather save some money and create beautiful food at home.
The first time I made this sirloin tip I immediately fell in love. I couldn’t believe that it was really this simple to make. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I tried it a few more times and was blown away each time. The wine sauce seriously is one of the best flavors I have ever tried and it takes it to the next level.
What You Need To Make Sirloin Tips
- Sirloin Tip steak
- Olive oil
- Unsalted butter
- Coarse black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Sea salt
- Liquid smoke marinade
For The Wine Sauce
- Granulated beef boullion
- Corn starch
- Sugar or stevia powder
- Thyme
- Merlot or dry red wine
- Balsamic vinegar
- Vegetable oil
- Worcestershire sauce
Garnish
You can use any of the following as a garnish.
- Chopped cilantro
- Parsley
- Green Onions
- 2 Tbl chopped cilantro, or parsley, or green onion tops for garnish
First Step: Prepare the steaks by putting them on a cutting board and tenderizing with a hammer.
Second Step: Sprinkle each side of the steak with some olive oil. Then add the liquid smoke, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Let the steaks sit and marinate for a little bit while you begin preparing the wine sauce.
Third Step: Add the dry ingredients for the sauce into a medium-sized bowl. Then pour in the wine, vinegar, Worcestershire, and oil together. Mix well and set aside.
Fourth Step: Put the butter and olive oil in a hot skillet using medium high heat. After the butter melts and begins sizzling, add a steak to the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes per side. Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature to make sure it’s 140 – 160 degrees F. Then place on a serving plate. Repeat until each steak is cooked.
Fifth Step: Lower the temperature and add one tablespoon of oil to the pan. Pour the mixture of sauce into the pan and stir continually. Make sure to stir the entire time so it doesn’t burn. The sauce will thicken as it cooks. After it is thick and will coat the back of your spoon then you can drizzle over each steak and serve.
How Do I Know When Steak Is Done?
The steak is done as soon as it reaches 140 degrees F. or higher depending on your preference. You can cook the steak so it’s well done and doesn’t have any pink inside or eat it rare. Either way, when you pour that wine sauce on top it’s going to be an unforgettable dinner idea!
How Do I Store Leftover Steak?
To store leftover steak, first let it cool down all the way after cooking. Once it’s cool, then you should place it inside of a storage container with a tight fitting lid. It will last in the fridge for up to 4 days.
How Do You Reheat Steak?
Reheating steak takes some special care if you don’t want it to be dried out. You can always put the steak on a microwave safe plate and toss it in for a couple of minutes. However, it may not be as juicy. So it just depends what kind of hurry you are in and what tools you have available.
For best results, put a little bit if olive oil in a skillet and heat over medium-high heat. They don’t take long to warm up and will taste even better if you drizzle some more sauce on them while they are cooking. As soon as they are hot you can serve.
