It’s FINALLY starting to warm up here in Michigan. And by “warm up” I mean that we had a day where it registered a temperature of more than 27 degrees. I’m not gonna lie-I’m tired of snow and I’m tired of freezing. Basically I’m just tired. If I can’t have spring I can at least have spring essential oil diffuser recipes to hold me over.
Spring Essential Oil Diffuser Recipes
Maybe it’s because I visited Houston over the weekend and loved the 85-degree weather (even with a major thunderstorm). We had a 95-degree day in September right after we moved north so there’s hope, right?
Spring Essential Oil Diffuser Recipes
Maybe I’m hoping to give the universe a push but I’ve swapped out my Christmas Spirit, Thieves, and Pine for some lighter combinations.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been diffusing lighter, more citrus-based scents and I’m totally loving them.
Sunshine Day
This one just makes me smile. It smells so fresh, and with all of the citrus, it helps me feel awake and refreshed.
The boys are also huge fans and request this regularly.
- 2 drops bergamot
- 4 drops orange
- 2 drops grapefruit
Citrus Center Stage
If you love the smell of fresh citrus fruit (I obviously do), you have got to try this.
- 2 drops lemon
- 2 drops grapefruit
- 2 drops tangerine
Smells Like Spring
This is an annual favorite. The earthy notes of lavender mixed with peppermint and lemon are just about perfect and it makes things smell so spring-y.
- 3 drops lavender
- 2 drops peppermint
- 2 drops lemon
Squeaky Clean
We use a LOT of Thieves Cleaner in my house, but sometimes I miss the smell of a certain dark green cleaning agent and this is a good substitute!
Rainy Day
I know, I know, I have said over and over how much I hate rain and I am definitely not a fan, but it’s part of living in Michigan…
…and (don’t tell Ish), I do like the way the air smells after a good rain, shhh!
- 4 drops pine
- 3 drops lavender
- 2 drops eucalyptus
Spring Storm
When we lived in Texas, I used to think I could “smell a storm” coming. The air just smelled different like it was heavy and a little dark and I’ve been trying to recreate that scent forever.
So far, this is as close as I’ve come, and I find that I’m diffusing it at least once a week.
- 2 drops lemon
- 4 drops frankincense
- 1 drop pine
Summer Dreaming
Spring is the gateway to summer, right? This blend is great for helping me wake up and get ready for the day because it’s nice and bright.
- 3 drops grapefruit
- 1 drop ylang-ylang
- 1 drop peppermint
So do you diffuse different scents depending on the season?
