Why You Might Need A Weight Loss Program

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

Over the course of my weight loss journey (just since starting this blog, in fact), I’ve lost more than 120 pounds (not all at once, mind you), and the first two times I ventured into a weight loss I actually used a few different weight loss programs {which shall remain nameless}.

Have you been struggling? Wanting to lose weight but don't know how? Find motivation and support using a structured weight loss program and stop waiting for "next Monday".

When I decided to go the route of having a “strict” or “done for me” program, it all boiled down to what I could actually handle at the time.

I’ve talked to so many women who feel like they just “can’t” lose weight. Or the “can’t” change their diet…even though they know they need to. And exercise? Forget it. When we get busy, it seem that our health often flies out the window-mine included.

But honestly, we don’t have time to wait…next Monday is never going to come.

What’s stopping you?

Is it your kids? Your schedule? Or maybe you just need some motivation.

Sometimes, that’s the biggest kicker. The first time I lost more than 10 pounds, I had made an investment-I joined a program, paid the fee, and had a support system. I lost 40 pounds. And you know what? It wasn’t hard! In fact, because everything was essentially “done for me” I didn’t have to think-the weight started falling off.

So…how do you know if a weight loss program is right for you?

Is a weight loss program right for you?

  • Do you hate planning meals? jenny craig 1
  • Do you find yourself eating takeout an obscene number of times each week (each day)?
  • Do you make a grocery list…and then just grab ‘quick’ meals anyway?
  • Do you lack the self control to only have one serving of a snack or dessert?
  • Do you want someone else to do the work?
  • Do you wish you didn’t have to think?
  • Are you good at following directions?

If you answered “YES!” to any of those questions, then you may want to consider a pre-planned weight loss program. Now, of course, there’s the cost, but if you look at how much you really spend on food each week, you might actually be surprised.

When you’re counting not only receipts from the grocery store, but also fast food, restaurants, delivery…your grocery budget can quickly bust. Even if you’re just eating a $3 meal each day for lunch, over the course of a month that’s $90 for lunches alone. Then consider that pizza you ordered last night, or the restaurant you’re headed to tomorrow.

You are important.

If you’re struggling to lose weight, and you need a boost, you may actually end up saving money in the long run. But that’s not the most important thing-you are. And if you’re spinning your wheels (roller derby pun not intended), then it’s time to do something.

I realize that there are a lot of options out there, but many of them require a rather large upfront cost, and a minimum number of months that you’re paying for…so if you don’t like the food, you’re stuck, at least for a few months. Not cool at all, in my humble opinion.

But, if you want to test out Jenny Craig, they have an awesome new Jenny Craig Weight Loss Starter Kit available exclusively at Walmart that includes a free one-on-one consultation at any Jenny Craig Center (or online with Jenny Craig Anywhere).

And I’ve eaten a lot of pre-packaged meals. Smalls devoured the popcorn and cheese curls and Ish tried the chili and the chowder. We all agreed that we could eat it again…and again.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to stop making excuses and start taking care of yourself.
