I’m a shrimp-loving girl. I could literally eat shrimp (or any seafood for that matter) for every single meal if given the chance. (did you know that shrimp tastes really good cold and leftover as well?!)

BUT, like everything in life…moderation is key. It’s not that shrimp isn’t good for your body, it’s just that too much of anything can derail your healthy eating habits.

The key to eating shrimp is to cook it in a way that you can enjoy it “naked”. (no, not you…the shrimp) That way, you don’t have to pair it up with anything like rice or other side dishes that may be higher in calories than you want.

And if you consider yourself a “foodie” like me, you are always looking for a way to eat the foods that you love without the worry of derailing your healthy eating habits.

Is shrimp good to eat when on a diet?

Shrimp is actually low in calories and can be a great source of protein when you’re wanting to eat healthily! Shrimp has also been shown to give added boosts of energy as well! (I can always use that!)

Is it safe to eat shrimp?

Shrimp contains lower levels of mercury than other seafood options and is considered a safe choice of food to consume.

In our house, this simple and easy Spanish Shrimp is one of our go-to meals. I love it because it’s yummy, and the boys love it because they like to play with them. (when you’re a parent, you pick your battles)
