I’ll admit it. I’m a sucker for a good subscription box. You can literally find a box no matter what you love. And the best part? They make great gifts, and with the holiday season coming up, who doesn’t want to avoid shopping, wrapping, and figuring out if your recipient really NEEDS another pair of socks? But I only want the best subscription boxes for women in my life.
The Best Subscription Boxes for Women
If you’re looking for a gift idea or just want get me something HINT HINT these are great options. I love subscription boxes because they’re like a gift that keeps on giving.
NatureBox
NatureBox is a great service that provides healthy snacks to your door every month. If you love variety, this is a great way to try a few different (full-sized!) snack packages each month. Every Nature Box comes with 4-6 bags of snacks, and they last for quite awhile!
$20/month, NatureBox
Stitch Fix
I have had Stitch Fix on my radar for awhile, and finally took the plunge…OH.MY.GOODNESS. So many cute things! You set your budget, and your stylist takes your style, measurements, sizes, and price range into consideration and builds your perfect box. Yes, the lower your price, the crappier the clothes. It’s like shopping at Forever21 when you should be walking in to Nordstrom. If you’re going to get a fix (and you should!), know that if you select the cheaper option, you really do get what you pay for. It’s still one of many great subscription boxes for women.
$50+ if you keep the items
Bulu Box
Bulu Box is a monthly subscription service that provides samples of diet and weight loss products. I like that you can choose your goal, whether that’s better health or weight loss. They have separate boxes for men and women, so all of the supplements and products you receive are tailored to you. Each box may include: vitamins, weight loss, energy, protein, digestion, sleep support, fitness DVDs, healthy food utensils and more.
$10/month, Bulu Box
Birchbox
Most subscription box lovers have heard of Birchbox, one of the frontrunners of the subscription box movement. Birchbox offers boxes for both men and women, and is fairly reasonably priced. Unlike their competitor GlossyBox, their samples generally don’t come out to much over the $10 monthly cost. I do however love that you can customize your preferences for skin type, hair type, and even if you’d prefer not to receive perfume samples (Ish is highly allergic to most perfumes).
I no longer subscribe because over the months, I ended up a stash of so-so samples from my months of Birchbox that I either wasn’t impressed with or haven’t wanted to use.
$10/month
Glossy Box
Another beauty subscription box, this one is a little more luxe. I loved my GlossyBox, The samples are larger than than the ‘competition’, and they’re higher end brands (generally speaking). The value of the box (when I was getting them…since I’ve migrated over to more natural body care, I no longer use their service) was always at least the price of the subscription, and many months it was more than double. Overall, if you’re going to pick one beauty box, pick this one.
$21/month
Umba Box
These boxes are awesome if you love Etsy. Each box contains 2-3 curated items that may include jewelry, accessories, bath products, stationary and more. I love the unique handmade items that come in this box, and I love that they’re valued at nearly twice the subscription cost. One my favorite subscription boxes for women.
$25/month,
10 Storks
While I haven’t personally used this box, I love the idea of it! 9 individualized boxes for each month of pregnancy-sign me up (when I get pregnant, that is!)!!
$40/month
Conscious Box
I love that they promote natural, healthy products. I don’t love that my last two boxes have been mostly samples of pills or soaps, since I’m not one to vary my vitamins. I do appreciate that conscious box offers three options to cover all dietary/lifestyle needs: regular, gluten-free, and vegan. I’m “enjoying” the vegan box. I have to say that I’m not sorry that my subscription ends this month.
$19.95/month,
Love With Food
I have to say that I really love this box. Each month is curated with delicious goodies that are non-GMO, and often gluten free. I love trying new goodies, and it’s even better to find a box of them in the mail once a month! I have to say that in the 3 months that we’ve been getting Love With Food, the box has never lasted more than 2 days between the 3 of us. It’s always delicious!
$10-17.00/month
Bean Box
Love coffee? ME.TOO. Bean Box delivers amazing, gourmet roasts to your door every month. The beans come from Seattle (Home of that place with a mermaid in their logo!), so you know they’re the real deal. I’m a coffee lover, and I have yet to find a roast I didn’t immediately fall in love with.
$20/month
YarnBox
I love to knit. Mittens, hats, scarves, slippers, socks…you name it. And I love good yarn. I’ve used Pattons for quick and easy hats, but I much prefer to work with high quality, super soft goodness, and that’s just what YarnBox delivers to your door. They have a subscription service that will send your yarn once a month, or every other month. I love the variety of yarns, as well as the ability to tell them which colors you prefer and which colors you NEVER want to see.
$39/month
KnitCrate
Another knitting subscription, I love this box. You get your pattern and enough yarn to complete the pattern at least once. I love the variety of yarn, as well as the ability to choose your difficulty or preference. Love socks? You can get just a sock box each month? A beginning knitter (like me!)? You can get a crate just for yourself. Advanced or an indie fan? There’s a box for that, too. I also love that KnitCrate offers needles for purchase on a monthly subscription to help make a set of Addi Bamboos a little more affordable.
$40/month +
Whimsey Box
Are you a crafty gal? Whimsey box provides everything you need for a themed craft (think Day of the Dead, Halloween, Christmas, etc.) each month to keep your creative juices flowing. Each box contains everything you need for that month’s craft, and the crafts are super cute!
$15/month, Whimsy Box
I have tried many other subscription box services but I am obsessed with GlobeIn. They give remote artisans a global reach by featuring their products in their artisan box each month. The products are unique and beautiful and the value is great!
Awesome, Liz! I will have to look into them!
